The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere and after the keynote speech by our Dean, the Mayor became interested in various topics related to the resident foreign community in Zaragoza, especially those who could benefit from new consulates.

Other matters of particular interest to the Consular Corps were approached and the end result of the meeting, the Mayor proposed the study and presentation of an agreement between the City and Consular Corps of Aragon being summoned to a meeting following which the present Framework Agreement.

Earthquake in Chile

On February 27, 2010, a terrible earthquake , of magnitude 8.8 on the Richter scale, shook Chile. The provisional death toll recorded about 800 dead, most of them in the region of Maule and Bío . enormous damage to homes and infrastructure and many Chileans trying to locate their loved ones.

In this Blog, Consular Corps of Aragon wishes to express its sympathy and solidarity with the Chilean people.

Zaragoza: 01/03/2010: Doña Rosa Plantagenet, Member of the Parliament of Aragon and Secretary General of Popular Party of Aragon and Don José Luis Calvo , City Councilman Zaragoza and Secretary of Organization of the Partido Popular de Zaragoza , have attended a series of meetings in the various Consulates in Aragon.

The purpose of these meetings, convened by Ms. Plantagenet, was to see first hand, through the respective Consuls concerns and issues of foreign citizens resident in Aragon.

Plantagenet Doña Rosa and Jose Luis Calvo have demonstrated a great knowledge of the situation and reality of aliens in our region, and certainly a great willingness to move closer to this reality as evidenced by the very call for these meetings.

also showed interest in learning the operation of the Consular Corps of Aragon : their activities, their efforts, their needs and how to collaborate on various topical issues.

From the Consular Corps of Aragon want to thank initiatives like this, which among other things, aid and abet sharing knowledge and initiatives aimed at better integration of foreigners residing in Aragon.
